Campus Store to Partner with eCampus.com to Offer Students More Convenient, Affordable Access to Textbooks

Syracuse University has selected eCampus.com to be its new full-service online textbook store beginning with the Spring 2022 term. eCampus.com was selected for its user-friendly services and its proven track record of reducing costs for students, which in some cases can be up to 70% off publisher list prices. Additionally, students will be able to take advantage of a convenient on-campus service center in the Campus Store where they can have their books delivered with free expedited shipping after they’ve placed the­ir order.

See What’s in Store at the Schine Student Center

Thanks to the renovation of the Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center, the Syracuse University community now has a re-imagined campus store. The retail space still places academic resources at the heart of its mission while making room for new University-branded apparel, a late-night food and grocery market, a coffee stand and a student-focused event space.

Central to the store’s revamp is a name change. No longer the Syracuse University Bookstore, the Campus Store now reflects an industrywide shift toward digital course materials and away from printed textbooks, once the mainstay of college bookstores.

Syracuse University Bookstore Ready to Go Green, End Use of Plastic Bags

On March 1, New York State will join the growing number of states and local municipalities across the country in the movement to ban the use of plastic bags.

At the Syracuse University Bookstore, Director Roger Hailstork and his staff are prepared for the change and are ready to do their part in the effort to phase out 23 billion-plus plastic bags New York State residents use annually.

For University’s 150th, the Bookstore Celebrates the Original Orange

The Syracuse University Bookstore is taking advantage of the opportunity to highlight some of the key moments, athletic achievements—and mascots!—that have played a part in the University’s rich past.

A series of College Vault products are on sale now in the Bookstore, featuring the 1959 National Football Championship, a 1990s version of the block-S Syracuse logo and Vita the Goat—the bygone live mascot who roamed the sidelines of Archbold Stadium during the 1920s.

Bookstore to Close for Year-End Inventory

The Syracuse University Bookstore will be closed Friday, June 21 and Monday, June 24, for year-end inventory. The bookstore will reopen Tuesday, June 25, at 8:30 a.m.

I.D. orders for fiscal year 2019 business must be processed by the bookstore no later than Thursday, June 20. I.D. orders processed beginning Tuesday, June 25, will be fiscal year 2020 business.

Looking Ahead: Where to Find Offices, Services during Schine Renovation

Schine Student Center ExteriorAs announced in November, Schine Student Center will begin a transformative renovation in May 2019. The planned renovation, a key component of the Campus Framework, will include enhanced accessibility, an upgraded dining experience, centralized spaces for student activities, an expanded, open central atrium and versatile seating and lounge space.

In preparation for the renovation, teams from the divisions of Enrollment and the Student Experience and Business, Finance and Administrative Services have worked diligently to coordinate office relocations and expand services currently within Schine Student Center.

Bookstore Brings Hugs from Home to Students for Valentine’s Day

The Bookstore’s Hugs from Home program offers parents and families the opportunity to order sweet and thoughtful treats for their students for Valentine’s Day, Halloween, final exams and birthdays. Valentine’s Day is by far the busiest delivery day, says Don Maitland, the Bookstore’s receiving manager, who leads the staff in preparing for the big day. On Thursday, this space was the staging area from which Bookstore employees prepped for the delivery of more than 400 gifts to students in residence halls, academic buildings and Greek houses across campus.

Progress on Campus Framework: Schine Student Center Renovation to Commence May 2019

The Schine Student Center, the hub of student life on the Syracuse University campus, will soon undergo a significant makeover. The renovation, which was identified as a key component of the Campus Framework, a 20-year roadmap meant to guide future campus planning and development, will begin in May 2019. The announcement comes on the heels of the Nov. 9 Board of Trustees meeting, during which the Board unanimously approved the planned renovation.
